Elizabeth Brown is an American politician from the state of Indiana. A member of the Republican Party, she serves in the Indiana State Senate, representing the 15th district.
Liz earned her Bachelor
of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame, earned her Law Degree in
1983 from the University of Iowa College of Law.
Liz is married to Stephen Brown, MD since 1982; the Browns have 7 children. Patrick, Daniel, Elizabeth, Michael, Matthew, Stephen and Kathleen. Liz is a registered Civil and Domestic Mediator; owner Brown Mediation LLC; also an adjunct professor for business courses at University of St. Francis
Liz
has a long history of community involvement having served on the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne Board of Directors, Parkview Hospital Ethics Committee, the
Notre Dame Club of Fort Wayne and Allen County Law Library Foundation Board. She has been a volunteer den mother for Cub Scouts, soccer coach and assistant basketball coach at St. Jude’s Catholic School. Liz’s interest in quality education led her to serve on the St. Jude School Board, the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend School Board, the National Catholic Education Association School Board and the Dwenger Saints Alive Committee. Liz is a regular substitute teacher at St. Jude Catholic School and teaches business courses as an adjunct professor at University of Saint Francis. She is and has been a strong supporter of Allen County Right to Life for many years. In 2006, Liz graduated from the Lugar Series for Excellence in Public Service. She is also a proud member of the National Rifle Association.
Liz was elected to Fort Wane City Council at Large from 2008 to 2011. While on the City Council, Liz chaired the Blight Task Force, co-chaired the Health Benefits Task Force and the Public Safety Task Force. Liz represented the City of Fort Wayne Governing Board on the Urban Transportation Advisory Board Served on the Fort Wayne City Plan Commission on the Governing Board of the Department of Planning Services.
Liz was elected to the State Senate of District 15 and began her term in January 2014. While in the senate, Liz serves on the following committees: Environmental Affairs, Health & Provider Services and Insurance & Financial Institutions
